A Long Island high school has banned students from carrying backpacks and using lockers after threatening messages were found written on the wall of the boys bathroom.

In a desperate attempt to tighten security, Wantagh High School students are now barred from bringing backpacks or large bags to the campus for the rest of the school year, in addition to the fact that bathroom usage will require a sign-in and sign-out with each use. Students were also required to empty their lockers on Friday.

The restrictions come on the heels of a threatening message that was left in black marker on the wall of the boys restroom last Thursday. It's the second of its kind to be written on the bathroom this month, with a similarly ominous note discovered on May 1st.

Any belongings that students do bring to school are required to be stored in clear plastic bags, which will also be checked by officials twice daily.
