A Long Island dad has been arrested for allegedly conducting a drug deal in his car while his daughter sat in the back seat.

Police say 38-year-old Valley Stream resident Kenneth Smith pulled into an unidentified dealer's driveway Sunday night, leaving his young daughter sitting in the back seat as the dealer climbed into the car and the alleged deal went down, NBC New York reports. Father and daughter eventually drove away, but were stopped by police on the basis of expired registration.

Cops allegedly found three bags of heroin on Smith, and arrested him at the scene. He's been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child and several vehicle and traffic violations.

His daughter was picked up by a family member.
