2006_05_129park.jpgDuring broad daylight, a gunman shot at a livery cab in Harlem at least 10 times, killing its passenger. Bullets hit the passenger side window and door as the car was on East 129th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues. The NY Times reports that a witness tried to follow the shooter's car, a beige, gray or gold Honda Accord, but "lost track of it on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens." The vicitim, Reginald Caraway, was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital. He had been in prison for criminal contempt and attempted reckless endangerment; the NY State Federation of Taxi Drivers told the Daily News, "I don't know if the driver was followed or if it was road rage. But it shows that you not only have to look out for criminals trying to rob you, you have to watch out for someone targeting the person you pick up."
