A livery cab driver was shot and killed at around 7:40 a.m. this morning near Rockaway Park. Police responded to a 911 call that a man had been shot around 32nd Street and Lewmay Road, and found a 30-year-old man dead inside the driver's seat of a white Ford Crown Vic. Magnificent 7's, a livery cab company, tells NBC that the man was an employee.
The Post reports that the The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers will offer a reward for information regarding the shooting. Last year a livery cab driver was shot near Ozone Park by a fare, and this summer a cabbie was stabbed and killed over a fare.
