There's a rather adorable gallery of her kids amazed at the hail stones and even posing with buckets of it! Newsday reports the hail was "caused by strong updrafts that suspended raindrops in the chilly upper atmosphere until they froze," according to a meteorologist who also said it was unusual for such large hail. Some neighborhoods all over the NYC-area suffered flooding and downed trees; flights were also delayed at the three airports.
