Well, one man has one less reason to worry about those bodies out on Long Island. Yesterday the Sufflolk County medical examiner announced (as the Daily News has been hinting all along) that none of the four women found on Gilgo Beach over the last week was that of 24-year-old Jersey City prostitute Shannon Gilbert. This should come as a relief to Joseph Brewer, Gilbert's last john, who has been under intense scrutiny the past few days—the police not only searched his house but also took his SUV. "I said this from the beginning, that I was innocent, that I didn't do anything, and now it's come out," Brewer said after the non-identification was announced. The whereabouts of Gilbert remain unknown.

Meanwhile, the story has gotten a New York City twist as the remains of the four bodies have all been moved to the city, where forensics analysts at the city's medical examiner's office will try to identify them and their cause of death. Both of which could take weeks.
