The Yankees' two latest starts this season have not come on the West Coast. They started a game against the Red Sox at 10:34 on June 2. And with heavy rain in the area Tuesday, they waited four hours before the 11:08 first pitch against the Orioles. Francisco Cervelli hit a video-replayed seventh-inning homer to give the Yankees the lead for good and make the late start a little more tolerable in a 5-3 win. Jorge Posada and Brett Gardner also homered. Phil Hughes pitched six innings of two-run ball. Mariano Rivera got his 598th career save. The teams play a day game Wednesday. Ouch.

The Mets also had to deal with rain, but thanks to Nick Evans' three go-ahead hits, they finally held off the Marlins, 7-4, in 12 innings. Ryota Igarashi got the win in relief after MIguel Batista pitched six innings of one-run ball in his second Mets start.
