- Mets 5 Detroit 0: R.A. Dickey is having one of those magical seasons that Terry Leach and Aaron Small can relate to. Dickey entered the season with a career record of 22-28 with an ERA well over 5 and he is now 6-0 after dominating the Tigers with eight-shutout innings. Jose Reyes had a big night at the plate with a triple, homer and single plus three runs scored. Ike Davis added two hits and two RBI’s and the Mets will go for the sweep tonight.
- Yankees 6 Arizona 5 The Yankees squandered a lot of chances in the early innings, but they tied things up in the ninth with a sac fly from A-Rod. Curtis Granderson homered in the 10th to put the Yankees ahead. Mariano Rivera, who entered the game in the ninth, got out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the tenth to earn the win.
