• Yankees 10, Angels 6: Javier Vazquez was great for the first four innings of this afternoon's game against the Angels. Lucky for him, the Yankees offense was able to give him a sizable lead. Vazquez was given a 6 run cusion, and pitched well for the first four innings before allowing 5 runs in the next two innings. The Yankees added insurance runs in the 7th inning, including a three run pinch-hit home run Colin Curtis, the first of his career. Curtis came into the game when Brett Gardner was ejected in the middle of his at bat. Vazquez' win against the Angels gives him a win against all 30 teams in the Majors.
  • Mets 3, Diamondbacks 4 (14 innings): Out in Arizona, the Mets failed in trying to avoid a sweep against the lowly Diamondbacks. Angel Pagan and Rod Barajas both had solo home runs for the Mets and the Mets bullpen also did well to hold off the D-Backs. In the end, Fernando Nieve gave up Chris Snyder's pinch-hit walk-off single.
