  • Yankees 8 Houston 4: So far, a trip to Houston seems just like what the Yankees needed. Down 3-0 early, New York stormed back to win the game. Alex Rodriguez got the Yankees onto the board with a home run to right that got some assistance from an Astros’ fan who got his glove in the way. Jose Molina provided a huge double in the third that gave New York a 5-3 lead.

That’s all Mike Mussina needed as he went six-strong innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. Russ Ohlendorf wasn’t great, Kyle Farnsworth walked the leadoff guy and Edwar Ramirez gave up a leadoff single, but they kept the Yankees in the lead and got the job done. New York will go for the sweep tomorrow with Chien-Ming Wang taking the mound.

  • Mets Rained Out: In case you didn’t notice, it rained a lot tonight and that scrubbed the game at Shea. The teams will play a doubleheader Sunday, but don’t show up with tickets from Saturday’s game, because they won't be honored!
  • D.C. United 4 Red Bulls 1: The Red Bulls fell behind 3-0 and couldn’t dig out of that hole.
  • Liberty 77, Lynx 76: The Liberty hold on to win their 4th win in 5 games.
