• Jets 29 Indianapolis 15: Maybe it’s a New York thing, but undefeated teams don’t seem to fare so well against our local clubs. The Jets put an end to the Colts perfect season, granted Indianapolis had pulled some of their starters, and kept their playoff hopes alive. At 8-7 New York is in a five-way tie for the final wild card spot, but a win against the Bengals next Sunday Night would put them into the playoffs.
  • Carolina 41 Giants 9: You have to wonder if the real problem for the Giants all year was simply that they had no heart. Faced with a must-win situation in the final home game at Giants Stadium, New York completely fell apart. The defense couldn’t stop the Panthers and the offense kept turning the ball over. It wasn’t the worst game ever played by the Giants at Giants Stadium, but it was close and the Giants are going to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2004.
  • San Antonio 95 Knicks 88: The Knicks were outrebounded and outshot as they fell to the Spurs. David Lee had a great game, scoring 28 points and pulling down 10 rebounds, but he couldn’t do it alone and the Knicks fell to the Spurs.
  • Philadelphia 2 Islanders 1: The Islanders fell behind quickly, allowing a goal in the first two minutes. They tied things up in the second period off a goal by Jeff Sim, but the Flyers went ahead for good later in the period.
