New York faced New York at Madison Square Garden Thursday, with the Rangers emerging victorious over the Islanders 4-2. Brandon Dubinsky put the Rangers out in front with only his second goal of the season in the first period. PA Paranteau tied things up with a power-play goal 18 seconds into the second period.
But the Rangers took control of the game later in the period. Marian Gaborki scored his 20th of the year off of a great faceoff win by Artem Anisimov. Michael Del Zotto jumped on a bouncing puck and slapped it into the back of the net for his 4th goal of the year. Matt Moulson brought the Islanders back to within one with his 16th, but they couldn't get the tying goal and the Rangers earned the two points.
