- Orioles 4, Yankees 3: A.J. Burnett didn't implode, but he didn't pitch well either. He walked four in seven innings and gave up a pair of two-out RBI singles to Brian Roberts as the Yankees dropped their second straight game after winning eight straight. Alex Rodriguez hit a solo home run and has 100 RBIs for the 13th straight season and a record 14th overall. But the rest of the Yankees didn't do much against Brian Matusz and three Orioles relievers. The loss was the Yankees' first at home against Baltimore since last season.
- Nationals 13, Mets 3: Sunday's offensive explosion in Chicago? Yeah, that was a one-day thing. The Mets got two in the first inning but didn't do anything of significance after that against the lowly Nationals. Mike Pelfrey, described by pitching coach Dan Warthen as being in "la-la land," allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings. He also gave up one of the two home runs hit by rookie Danny Espinosa.
