- Yankees 7 Blue Jays 5: Even though Javier Vazquez gave up five runs, the Yankees managed to win their eighth straight game and beat Toronto. Marcus Thames broke a 5-5 tie with a two-run home run in the seventh inning. However Vazquez wasn't happy about being taken out of the game in the fifth (two outs, base runners on first and third), but later said, “I’m not the manager. Sometimes as a player you don’t agree with the decision the manager makes, but he’s still the manager and you have to respect it."
- Cubs 5 Mets 3: Twenty-year-old Jenrry Mejia made his Major League debut for the Amazin's, becoming the youngest pitcher to start for the team since Dwight Gooden in 1984. But while Doc won his game (over Houston), Mejia "allowed four runs in five innings... surrendered eight hits, two walks and struck out two while throwing 96 pitches, 64 for strikes." But manager Jerry Manuel said, "He showed some promise."
- Real Salt Lake 1 Red Bulls 0: The Red Bulls fell in Utah, as Real Salt Lake held a lead after Fabian Espindola's 4th minute goal. The Red Bulls are now 11-7-5.
