• Braves 4, Mets 0: Mike Pelfrey lasted only four innings -- but threw 93 pitches -- as the Mets dropped their second straight game to the Braves, whom they now trail by five games in the National League East. Atlanta touched up Pelfrey for 12 hits and three walks. The righty struck out only two. The Mets, on the other hand, had no answers for Braves starter Tim Hudson, who surrendered four hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings.

Things didn't get any better in the seventh inning, when Jose Reyes left with the same oblique injury that cost him time last week. The Mets try to avoid a sweep as they play their final game before the All-Star Break on Sunday.

  • Mariners 4, Yankees 1: Joba Chamberlain served up a Jose Lopez grand slam in the eighth inning, undoing seven scoreless innings from Javier Vazquez. For the second time in little over a week, Felix Hernandez handcuffed the Yanks. At least they got a run off him this time.

  • Red Bulls 0, United 0: This game was a snoozer, but Bouna Coundoul kept a clean sheet to extend the Red Bulls' unbeaten streak to five games. They are 3-0-2 in that stretch.
