  • Rangers 2, Senators 1 (SO): With this win in a shootout, the Rangers extended their winning steak to three and bumped the previous slump to the back of their minds. Prior to this current streak, they had lost four of five. Fredrik Sjostrom scored the goal in regulation, and Nikolai Zherdev got the only tally in the shootout. That means Henrik Lundqvist, who had 27 saves (on 28 shots in regulation) came up big when it matters most. The Canucks visit on Wednesday.
  • Islanders 2, Canucks 1 (SO): This game looked lot like the Rangers' contest. Frans Nielsen lit the lamp in the shootout and Doug Weight scored the game-tying goal in regulation. Joey MacDonald was the hero in this one, however, stopping 31 of 32 Vancouver shots.
