Rangers 6 Islanders 5: The Islanders mounted two comebacks against the Rangers, but in the end they fell just short. The Rangers jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Christensen and Callahan, but an Islander goal late in the first period swung the momentum back their way. They capitalized on that in the second with goals from Moulson and Schremp to take a 3-2 lead and chase Marty Biron from the game.

The Rangers came right back with Brandon Prust tying things up a minute after the Islanders took the lead. Marian Gaborik scored his first of the game to give the Rangers a 4-3 lead heading into the third. Gaborik scored to open the third period and put the Rangers back into the lead by 2, but the Islanders came storming back. Grabner and Comeau scored 90 seconds apart to tie things back up and bring the crowd alive. But, Gaborik wasn't done and his hat trick gave the Rangers a one-goal lead and the win.

Montreal 5 Devils 1: Brian Gionta scored 11 seconds into the game and the Canadiens never looked back. Jason Arnott spoiled the shutout with a goal in the third period.
