The Devils got the only win amongst the locals with a 2-1 victory over Columbus in the shootout. Dainius Zubrus scored the only New Jersey goal in regulation, but it was Martin Brodeur who was the star of the game. Brodeur stopped 35 shots in the game and two more in the shootout to earn the two points for New Jersey.
The Islanders blew a 3-1 lead as they fell to Philadelphia 4-3 in OT. Kyle Okposo scored his first two goals of the year and Michael Grabner added his 6th to put the Isles up by two at the end of one period. Danny Briere tied things up for the Flyers in the third and won the game with a wrister past DiPietro for the win.
The Rangers have cooled off from their seven-game win streak and are once again searching for offense. Derek Stepan had their only goal, but New York managed only 20 shots in the game. The Panthers managed 38 and Henrik Lundqvist only let two of them in. That proved to be the difference in the Panthers' 2-1 victory.
