- Royals 4, Yankees 3: Too bad Kyle Farnsworth can't close every game against the Yankees. Joba Chamberlain turned in a middling effort. The Yankees, who have clinched everything from the division to home-field advantage, have nothing to play for except their health. They have an off-day Thursday before traveling to St. Petersburg to play the Rays. Then come the playoffs.
- Nationals 7, Mets 4: Imagine if the Mets were in the pennant race and Francisco Rodriguez were pitching like this? Instead, he's just another black mark on a dreadful season. K-Rod served up a two-out walk-off grand slam to Justin Maxwell as the Nationals came back and swept the Mets. At least Rodriguez is a stand-up guy saying, "If I suck I suck, I don’t make excuses.” In other bad news, Jose Reyes tore his hamstring running on Tuesday and may need surgery. Good thing the season ends on Sunday.
