- Mets 14, Tigers 6: Good news: The Mets, returning home after a nine-game road trip touched up Justin Verlander for five runs in two innings and scored eight in the third inning alone.(A rain delay helped.) Bad news: Jon Niese couldn't last five innings despite getting a 10-0 lead. (The rain delay probably hurt.) Angel Pagan went 4-for-6 with four RBIs, and the first four Mets hitters had at least three hits each. Pagan finished a homer short of the cycle. Fernando Nieve got the win in relief for the Mets, who scored all their runs without the benefit of a home run.
- Yankees 9, Diamondbacks 3: Andy Pettitte and Alex Rodriguez helped propel Yankees to a win in Arizona. Pettitte allowed two runs, seven hits and even got a base hit. A-Rod homered and singled, driving in three runs. It was Petttitte's first start in Arizona with the Yankees since his implosion in Game 6 of the 2001 World Series. The Yankees lead the American League East by a half-game and have the best record in the Majors.
- Lynx 75, Liberty 68: A 17-3 run in the fourth quarter tied the game at 62, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Liberty from their third straight loss.
