Just as he did in Super Bowl XLII, Eli Manning drove the Giants down the field against the Patriots and led his team to a victory. And this time, he didn't even need to have an interception dropped or a miracle catch. He found Jake Ballard for a one-yard touchdown with 15 seconds remaining in a 24-20 victory. The Giants forced four Patriots turnovers and held the vaunted New England offense without a point in the first half. They took a 10-0 lead and had a chance to go up 17-3 before Eli Manning got picked in the end zone. But the Giants recovered and rallied from deficits of 13-10 and 20-17 to improve to 6-2.
The Jets didn't have the dramatics of the Giants, but they scored an equally impressive win over the Bills After a sluggish first half, the Jets rolled to a 27-11 win in Buffalo. Mark Sanchez threw for a touchdown to Santonio Holmes and helped lead a 24-point second-half explosion. With the Patriots' loss, the Jets, Bills and Patriots are in a three-way tie atop the AFC East. The Jets and Patriots play next Sunday.
Marian Gaborik had two goals (one was an empty-netter) as the Rangers downed the Jets, 3-0. Martin Biron had 23 saves for his first shutout in more than two years.
