In his first game this season (and in more than 10 months), Sidney Crosby had quite the night against the Islanders. He had two goals and two assists as the Penguins cruised, 5-0. Crosby had been recovering from a concussion and related symptoms, but it was the Islanders who looked woozy. Anders Nilsson made only his second start of the season and made 31 saves, but he also let in the five goals.

In Florida, the Devils scored the first three goals of the game but still came away with no points. They led by three at the first intermission before Martin Brodeur gave up two in the second and two in the third. Ilya Kovalchuk, Petr Sykora and Dainius Zubrus all lit the lamp in the game's first 12 minutes. The decisive goal came from Florida's Tomas Fleischmann with just over two minutes remaining.
