• Dodgers 9, Yankees 4: Even after being staked to a 3-0 lead before he threw a pitch, A.J. Burnett couldn't answer the bell. He gave two runs back in the first and three more in the third. When he left the game after three-plus innings, he had allowed six runs on six hits and six walks. At least he struck out five batters. Burnett has lost five straight starts and seen his ERA balloon from 3.28 on May 30 to 5.25 on Saturday. Ouch. Mark Teixeira's three-run homer gave the Yankees a 3-0 lead before they made an out. Unfortunately for them, that was the highlight of the night.
  • Twins 6, Mets 0: Not a good for Johan Santana. First word transpires that the Mets lefty had extramarital sex with a woman on a golf course, and then he goes out and gives up four runs in the first inning against his former team. Santana, who settled down and allowed five runs in six innings, could have allowed only one run and it wouldn't have made the difference. Carl Pavano shut out the Mets on a three-hitter.
  • Red Bulls 3, Wizards 0: Clearly, this was the biggest soccer game of the day. Juan Pablo Angel scored twice in a rare rout for New York.
