• Marlins 7, Mets 6: The road woes for the Mets seem to continue. Even with a crowd seemingly in their favor, New York couldn't defeat "Los Marlins" at Florida's home away from home, Hiram Bithorn Stadium in Puerto Rico. Hisanori Takahashi was unimpressive again, this time allowing six runs during his 5 2/3 inning appearance. The wheels came off for Takahashi in the 3rd inning while he enjoyed a three run lead. He gave up a two-out single to opposing pitcher Nate Robertson, a walk and another single, followed by a grand slam by Hanley Ramirez. The Mets managed to tie the game in the 9th inning with a pinch hit single by Josh Thole, but were unable to keep Florida from scoring in the 9th. With Francisco Rodriguez unavailable with the game tied — he pitched in the 8th inning while the Mets were losing by two — Pedro Feliciano allowed a game-winning single by Dan Uggla. "Los Mets" are 4-8 against their Floridian rivals this season.
  • Mariners 7, Yankees 4: The Mariners were able to score runs in innings 2-6 against Yankees starter Phil Hughes, handing the young righty only his 2nd loss of the season. Hughes, coming off a 10-day break, allowed hits to eight of the nine Mariner hitters. Seattle starter Cliff Lee pitched his third consecutive complete game for a win. Nick Swisher was able to get two solo home runs off Lee in the loss.
  • Liberty 80, Sparks 68: Don't look now, but the Liberty has a three game win streak going. Cappie Pondexter scored 19 points to lead New York and even their record at 7-7.
