• Yankees 7 Red Sox 2: The Yankees were forced to put Dustin Moseley on the mound a day early when AJ Burnett came down with back spasms and it worked out pretty well for the Yankees. Moseley lasted 6-1/3, surrendering two runs. The Yankees offense backed him with a five-run fifth, set up by a bad error by Boston’s catcher, Kevin Cash. Derek Jeter had a two-RBI double to cap off the inning. The bullpen was solid again with Boone Logan striking out David Ortiz with the bases loaded and Mariano Rivera recording the final out on one pitch.
  • Philadelphia 6 Mets 5: It started out so well, but it didn’t end that way. Leading 2-1 in the third, Jose Reyes made a big error and R.A. Dickey got hit hard. When it was all over, the Phillies led 6-2. The Mets had several chances to get the game tied, but they couldn’t get the job done and they now return home to face the Rockies on Tuesday.
  • Red Bulls 0 Chicago 0: The Red Bulls earned a point on the road, but they may have lost Thierry Henry for awhile. Henry left the game just before the half with a groin pull.
