- Yankees 11 Orioles 4: New York is rolling, winning their eighth-straight game thanks to back-to-back-to-back home runs and some big hits in the eighth. Nick Swisher, Robinson Cano and Melky Cabrera hit the three-straight homers, while Derek Jeter had a 2-RBI double in the 8th. Phil Hughes struck out 9, but allowed two homers and three runs over five innings. Curiously, Mariano Rivera, who appeared in the 8th, came out for the 9th inning even with the huge lead to get his 8th save.
- Dodgers 2 Mets 1: Livan Hernandez flirted with trouble, but escaped while allowing only one run in the game. Carlos Beltran tied the game with a double in the third, but the Dodgers went ahead for good when Russell Martin singled home the winning run off of JJ Putz. The Mets were miserable with runners in scoring position and have not hit a home run in 69 innings. To add to their misery, Jose Reyes had to leave the game in the third with a strianed calf. Reyes will be examined in New York today while the Mets head to Boston to open a series tomorrow night.
