An eight-week-old kitten (pictured above) had to be euthanized after it was shot by a pellet gun—and the Nassau County SPCA wants answers.

The Nassau SPCA said in a statement, "All About Spay Neuter,Inc. was working with a Sunset Blvd. Massapequa resident on a TNR project when the resident noticed on July 30th that this kitten was injured. The kitten was trapped on August 2nd, taken by All About Spay Neuter, Inc. to a veterinarian where it was discovered that it was shot with a pellet gun. Due to the nature of the injuries this 8 week old kitten had to be humanely euthanized."

Now the SPCA is offering $1500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) involved. The group urges people to call them at 516-843-7722, email crueltystoppers@ncspca.us or to submit information via this form.
