Last November 15-year-old Marcus Bonner was shot in the face by a plainclothes narcotics detective who allegedly mistook Bonner's BB gun for the real thing. Though Bonner survived the incident he and his family are still, let's just say, upset about it. So they're suing the city, arguing that Bonner carried the gun to protect himself from bullies, that the officer who fired saw Bonner running from said bullies before chasing him and that the two officers on the scene lied about Bonner pulling the BB gun to cover up for their mistakes. Meanwhile, Bonner still faces two weapon possession charges from the day—a day we suspect all parties involved would rather hadn't happened.
