Somehow it's already the weekend of July 4th, and maybe you're spending it out of town, in which case you should probably be more concerned about holiday traffic than some persnickety changes on the city's subway. But if you're sticking around, note that while it might be Independence Day weekend, we New Yorkers are hardly free from the cruel rule of the MTA, which is celebrating the holiday weekend by throwing us some changes on 10 subway lines. Also note that trains will run on a Saturday schedule on Monday, but there will be some added service on certain lines before and after that night's fireworks.

Here's what to expect:

2 trains are operating in two sections from 3:45 a.m. on Saturday to 10 p.m. on Sunday: between Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College and East 180th Street, and between East 180th Street and Wakefield-241st Street. Also during that time, East 180th Street-bound trains will run express from Wakefield-241st Street to East 180th Street.

From 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, 5 trains will run every 20 minutes between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and Bowling Green.

Norwood-205th Street-bound D trains will be rerouted via the C line from West Fourth Street-Wash Square to 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 11:45 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday. Then, on Monday, July 4th, subways will operate on a Saturday schedule, which means no 5 trains in Brooklyn and no 6 or 7 express trains. B trains and Z trains won't be running. M trains won't run between Delancey-Essex streets and 71st Avenue, and Q trains won't run between 57 Street-Seventh Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard.

Before and after the Macy's fireworks celebration Monday night, there will be increased service on the 4, 7, A, C, and F trains, as well as on the 42nd Street Shuttle.
