After his normal end-of-summer vacation, Jon Stewart and The Daily Show staff returned last night with a ten-minute segment skewering Fox News for its outrageously racist coverage of Ferguson, MO.
While Stewart's observations are on par with his normal coverage of the conservative news channel, the segment becomes particularly poignant when Stewart discusses how racism pervades the daily lives of all people of color, even in the liberal bastion of New York City. At the end of the segment, Stewart describes how earlier this month, a producer and correspondent for the show were walking into an office building in Manhattan. The producer, who was shabbily dressed, is white. The correspondent, dressed in a tailored suit, is black. Stewart then asks, "Who do you think was stopped?".
