When Jimmy McMillan first came into our lives, it was about the issues one issue, man. He stood for something, something that affected each and every one of us; the rent was too damn high, and there was nothing else to talk about. But in the last few months since his heartbreaking gubernatorial defeat, Jimmy's changed. He's put out music videos, albums, action figures, and even performed in Greenpoint. In pursuing a music career, Jimmy sold out all those ideals that one thing he believed in. That's what we thought at least, until this morning, when Jimmy appeared on the Libertarian Internet talk show "Revolution Radio" and announced that he will run for President in 2012.

And best of all, he's registered as a Republican, obviously to avoid a costly, down-in-the-dirt primary fight with Obama. And thank golly, because forget about DADT or Rex Ryan's foot fetish: that really would tear this country apart once and for all. Now, we're going to move over Rover, and let Jimmy, and his eloquently boisterous radio announcement, take over: "If you don't do your job right, I am coming at you. I know Barack Obama is an Internet hog. I know he knows that I am out there. But what he hasn't heard yet is that Jimmy McMillan is running for President of the United States of America. Well Barack Obama, you might as well turn your Internet up. Go to the website, President. I want you to look at all the hits Sarah Palin got. I ate her up.Look at all the hits John McCain got. I chewed him up. Look at all the hits Hillary Clinton had, I swallowed her, chewed her up and spit her out. Jimmy McMillan is well-known."

We're gonna go ahead and start referring to him as the President of the Rent Is Too damn High Party from here-on. You can hear the full interview below, around the 49 minute mark.
