Brett Favre's one-year tenure with the Jets started well but ended without a playoff berth. Two years after his disappointing finish, Favre is with the Vikings and facing a critical game at the Jets on Monday night. The Jets (3-1) come into the game off a spanking of the Bills, and the Vikings (1-2) enter off a bye. Minnesota is the first of four NFC North foes to face the Jets this season.

Favre's return may be the third-biggest story this week. The biggest is Minnesota's acquisition of Randy Moss in a trade with the Patriots. Moss, who was drafted by the Vikings and played with the team for the first seven seasons of his career, may have a chip on his shoulder after being left out of the New England offense. Darrelle Revis is back after missing 2 1/2 games with a hamstring injury. Moss may be slower than he used to be, but there are easier ways to come back from an absence than against him.

Then, of course, there are the allegations that Favre, during his time with the Jets, sent sexually explicit photos in text messages to various Jets employees, including Jenn Sterger, the host of the Jets' gameday program. He was sure to hear plenty of abuse before these details came to light, and now he will hear even more. Unfortunately for him, he is also facing a Jets team that is significantly better than when he was here. Moss may help, but the Jets should still win.
