A Bronx man died after colliding with another jet ski on the Hutchinson River yesterday afternoon. The Post says that "Nelson Aquilar, 37, was riding with his 14-year-old daughter, Ashley" in Eastchester Bay when "they were then accidentally rammed from behind by a second Jet Ski carrying his niece, Raina Romero, 16, and another teen, Arianne Chavez, 14." The group made it to Goose Island (either by the help of a boater or swimming), where FDNY rescue workers treated them before taking them back to shore. Aquilar was pronounced dead at Jacobi hospital while the teens were treated for injuries. His wife told the Post, "He was a very good man," while one local told the Daily News that many people rent jet skis on City Island, "They just go very fast."
