A week after being arrested for drunk driving—crashing his Cadillac Escalade into a utility pole in the Hamptons—the Knicks' new point guard Jason Kidd spoke out about the incident for the first time. On Twitter, he said, "I regret any disruption my accident last weekend may have caused members of the community and want to thank the local authorities." Damn straight—Water Mill residents were without their precious Cablevision!
Of course, Cablevision owns Madison Square Garden which owns the Knicks, which is paying him $9 million for three years to not mentor Jeremy Lin. Kidd also Tweeted, "I’d also like to thank my family and friends for their support." Those friends insisted to the press that he wasn't trying to kill himself in the crash. Still, where were those friends when he apparently got blotto at SL East and drove off by himself?
