Admit it: you've spent more than a few lonely hours surfing Petfinder, picturing all the ways a cat would complete your life. 17 open tabs of tabbys. Visions of a perfect, furry, meowing love. Well, dear cat-craver, this is your purrfect opportunity. Put your weekend plan on paws and get over to Union Square.

The Animal Care & Control of NYC has set a goal of finding homes for 100 sheltered cats in the next four days and are going to great lengths to do so. For starters, the AC&C has set up a mobile adoption center at the Union Square Petco, where fresh-faced felines will be waiting for you to bring them back to your loving home. And adoption fees have been slashed—today and tomorrow, it will cost just $5 to adopt an adult cat and $20 for kittens six months and under. Yes, for the price of a Cronut, you can rescue a cat in need.

Another mobile adoption center, with the same reduced price rates, will be open at the Cobble Hill Animal Clinic from noon-4 p.m. Sunday. Both cats and adorable dogs will be waiting for you!

First row: Mark (Staten Island), Hyena (in foster care, attending AC&C’s Mobile Adoption Center event in Cobble Hill on Sunday), Munchie (Manhattan). Second row: Lilo(Staten Island), Apple (in foster, attending Cobble Hill event) and Noodle (Staten Island)

In a press release the AC&C describes itself as "overflowing with cats." Overflowing with cats! The spring and summer months are known as "kitten season," when thousands of animals are brought in. Last summer the AC&C took in 6,000 cats alone, and this year they're headed for the same number. "We truly hope these staggering statistics will inspire people to adopt. There couldn't be a better time to show your compassion and be one of New York’s Kindest," the nonprofit's Executive Director Risa Weinstock said in the press release. Every AC&C adoption includes vaccination, a microchip, spay/neuter, a free office visit at a participating veterinarian, and a free identification tag.

NYCACC also offers adoptions at their permanent locations:
