We don't know where to begin, so let's just put it out there: WCBS 880 reports that, yes, a flatbed truck carrying a Tomahawk missile did break down and get rear-ended by another vehicle - causing the missile to fall on I-95 near the Bronx. The NYPD confirmed that there was an "inert ordinance," and the FDNY confirmed it was a Tomahawk missile. WCBS 880 adds this: "It is important to emphasize that the missile was not armed." But that takes the fun out of the hysteria!
The missile was on its way to Virginia. We guess missiles need to be transported somehow, so now we know not to always think those huge flatbed trucks are carrying construction materials.
