2007_04_mhenk.jpgOn Sunday, there were a few reports of a motorcyclist who was critically injured during a hit-and-run in Brooklyn. Her name was not initially released, but now Monica Henk's family is speaking out because they have decided to take her off life-support. Henk's husband Dan, and he told the Daily News, "Her backpack was covered in blood. She was hit so incredibly hard that it shattered her helmet. I want to catch this guy. This is murder."

Friends have been updating Dan's website with information, and they sent us this email:

Local 26 year old artist Monica Henk was struck by a black SUV on the corner of Kent & Flushing Ave. in Brooklyn, New York at about 7am on Saturday, April 7th, 2007. She was riding her motorcycle and on the way to class at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. Her condition has steadily deteriorated, The family has decided to take her off life support.

Police now believe it is a 95-97 Black Chevy S-10 Blazer. It is missing the front bumper from the accident, and one of the headlights was smashed out.

There is a $10,000 reward from Crimestoppers (800-577-TIPS), as well as a $6,000 reward raised by friends and family.
