A street vendor has been arrested and accused of fatally beating a man to death on a subway platform in Manhattan last week.
Jersey City resident Alfredo Ramos, 51, was found sprawled on the train platform at the Essex/Delancy Street station in the Lower East Side around 10 p.m. on Aug. 28th. He had severe head injuries, and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. He was declared dead on Thursday, nearly a week after the assault.
Police have now arrested 57-year-old Bronx resident David Green, an incense vendor based outside the subway station. He has been charged with manslaughter.
According to the News, he "allegedly attacked the victim after the two got into a dispute." It is unclear what prompted the dispute.
