Despite the recent (possible) location of his spine, President Obama's "numbers" continue to tumble. A recent Gallup poll shows that 56 percent of respondents believe Obama is "about the same" or "worse" than President George W. Bush. It's also worth noting that nearly 30 percent of people polled don't know who the Vice President is, and 73 percent didn't know what the "Cold War" was (Häagen Dazs vs. Breyers, right?)

America's Original First Black President scored best: 50 percent polled said Obama was worse than Bill Clinton. We're still somewhat puzzled as to what the poll is supposed to mean, especially given that Ronald Reagan was deemed the "Greatest US President" in a Gallup poll earlier this year.

In a somewhat-positive sign for the president, a CBS/New York Times poll last week placed the approval ratings of Republicans in Congress at 19 percent, just above "Pubic lice" and "Nancy Grace." Democrats are at a comparably respectable 28 percent, which is still lower than "DVDs from Season 3 of Alias."
