Garbage workers were shocked when they went to throw out a discarded couch near the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn on Friday, only to find human remains inside of it.
The couch was spotted by Department of Transportation workers along the westbound Belt Parkway near the Flatbush Avenue exit around 3 p.m. yesterday. According to the News, they found the couch in a thatch of weeds off Shell Bank Creek. As they started to load it into their truck, a human skull and bones fell out.
The city medical examiner will determine whose remains they are, and how they died. The NYPD had no other information about the couch or the skeleton available.
Last year, a jogger found a human skeleton in Prospect Park (wearing Nets apparel).
