What appears to be a human leg partially wrapped with duct tape was found drifting down the East River in Queens, NBC reports.
Officials were investigating a report of a body in the water off the coast of Fort Totten yesterday around 4:30 p.m. when they spied the leg floating near Duane and Underhill roads. The Office of the Medical Examiner did not immediately return a call for comment on the circumstances surrounding the leg.
