The homeless man arrested for pushing a transgender woman onto the subway tracks earlier this month pleaded not guilty yesterday, via video hookup between the Bellevue Hospital psych ward and Manhattan Supreme Court.

Rolan Reid, 32, pushed Daniel Hollister, 28, off of the southbound 6 platform at Bleecker/Lafayette Street on June 1st. Reid allegedly said "What are you looking at?" and then threw a plastic bottle towards Hollister before pushing her. A fellow straphanger helped Hollister back onto the platform, and fortunately she suffered only minor injuries.

According to court papers, Reid initially told officers "I didn't throw nobody onto the tracks," but backpedaled within fifteen minutes, conceding "I should have thrown you onto the tracks as well," the News reports.

Reid, who is being held without bail, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and attempted assault.
