A 93-year-old Holocaust survivor was fatally struck, and her 68-year-old daughter was injured, by a parallel parking SUV in Williamsburg last night. According to police, the incident happened around 9:50 p.m. as Gitzella Katz was walking with her daughter Judy Fisher in the Taylor-Wythe houses where Katz lived. A 26-year-old man was parallel parking his black Toyota Highlander when he struck them.

“They were just laying there, not moving. They were walking together. I saw them fall backward,” witness Pessie Gelb told the Post. Both women were taken to Bellevue Hospital, where Katz died. Fisher suffered minor injuries; the driver was taken to the hospital with chest pains. Police add that no criminality is suspected.
