The NYPD is searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a 65-year-old man in the Bronx last night. The fatal collision took place at the intersection of Bronxdale and Barnes Avenues, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call just after 9:15 p.m. Tuesday and found the crash victim lying unconscious with trauma to his head and body. EMS workers rushed him to Jacobi Medical Center, but were unable to save him.

According to police, the man had been walking across Bronxdale Avenue when he was hit by the driver of a light-colored van, thrown into the air, and then again struck by the driver of a green Honda Odyssey. The Honda driver, a 33-year-old woman, remained at the scene, while the van driver sped away on Bronxdale Avenue.

The NYPD has not yet released the victim's identity, and no arrests have been made. An NYPD spokesperson confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection the fatal hit-and-run, and an investigation is ongoing.
