It's true: New Jersey has secured its place as the hottest spot for bears this week, with a 150-pound black bear cub seen strutting the streets of Mountainside yesterday. All the bears are doing it!

Paparazzi have captured footage of this particular taste-maker shutting down the local pool for a private event, as well as sending children at a nearby daycamp indoors for "extra privacy."

“I really like it, it’s really cute and I’ve never seen a bear before,” one 10-year-old superfan gushed.

The bear is still out and about, and experts advise keeping trash inside, abstaining from filling bird feeders, and minding dogs and other pets. Do not approach the bear for an autograph; it's considered gauche. Stay tuned on a forthcoming photo series from the Times' Bill Cunningham, unless he gets eaten.
