A reader in Midtown emailed us earlier in the day, "I swear I was just walking along W. 47th st. near 11th ave and saw a WWII era bomber fly over head?" We think this is the answer: According to CBS 2, there was apparently a fly-over by a 1958 DC-7 this morning—and there will be two more, one on Friday and one on Saturday. Today's plane "was to travel south over the Hudson River to the Verrazano Bridge, then east toward Long Island, before returning to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. The same route is to be used Friday and Saturday."
Heads Up: 1958 DC-7 Overhead Friday, Saturday
