Some friends of Gothamist are selling their Dumbo loft and have decided to sell it by themselves. Aside from the requisite listing on craigslist, they created a spiffy website, One Main Dumbo, aka the Clocktower building, for their one bedroom (look, 11 foot ceilings! look, SubZero fridge!) and have apparently cleaned it up just in time for an open house this weekend (perhaps Curbed readers will file reports!). Will the trend for selling apartments move to sales by owners, relying on word of mouth and the Internets (plus some great photographs) from sales handled by brokers?
What next for the owners? Possibly Queens, as it's the next Brooklyn - or is that Inwood? Curbed's final report on another "for sale by owner" - the Fizzbows. And One Main is the building where its developer, David Walentas, allegedly stole electricity from the building without paying for it.
