A 65-year-old Hasidic man was attacked in Borough Park early Tuesday morning, and police are investigated the assault as a possible hate crime.

According to police, the man was walking on McDonald Avenue near Avenue F at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday when an assailant allegedly attacked him from behind. The victim was pushed to the ground and sustained a minor injury; the assailant then fled, and authorities say no property was taken from the victim.

Sources say the victim was a tourist visiting New York from England. The investigation is ongoing, and the NYPD confirms they are looking into whether or not the assault was a bias attack.
