Austin Stevenson (NYPD)

Police are searching for Austin Stevenson, 25, who escaped from custody early this morning in East Harlem.

Officers arrested Stevenson on trespassing charges on E. 103rd Street around 2:45 a.m. and, while leading him towards the station house a block away, they say he shoved a cop over and ran, still handcuffed. Police say he was last seen running north near E. 104th Street and Lexington Avenue. A police spokesman said the NYPD does not know his address.

Cops provided a mugshot from Stevenson's 2014 arrest on robbery charges, and described him as standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing grey pants and a black T-shirt when he escaped.

Police ask people with information about Stevenson's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-8477, submit tips online or text tips to 274637, then enter "TIP577."
