On days like this, banning food on the subway makes sense. Especially when people are total slobs. At least there was a free daily around so the spill could be sopped up, but no one wanted to sit down for a few stops (of course, at Penn Station, the masses were more than happy to rest their weary legs in a coffee + newsprint puddle). Silver lining: At least it wasn't a possible bedbug?

Back when the MTA revised subway rules in 2005, the agency reminded everyone about the "no open containers" rule and that people shouldn't drink from them... which made people complain about not being able to drink their morning java.
